myBaker travels to Dubai

At myBaker, we just can’t help looking out for unique bakeries and interesting desserts wherever we go. On a recent trip to Dubai, I made an exciting discovery which I simply had to share: tucked in between a row of shops was Home Bakery, a charming boutique eatery with an inviting scent of delicious flavours.
My two friends and I were welcomed in and shown to a table. As we sat down, we stared at the queue in front of us with people picking up orders for birthdays and dinner parties in stylish gift boxes. The hand drawn logo on the packaging perfectly reflected the handmade nature of all their products – something that myBaker strongly relates to!
As I looked through the menu, the kind gentlemen serving us explained that every dessert was handmade to perfection. I asked him for recommendations and he chuckled. ‘The Pistachio Milk Cake, if you don’t have any nut allergies’ he said. I took his recommendation along with my usual skinny flat white. My two girlfriends ordered a date and coconut cake and a red velvet croissant! Our coffees arrived within 10 minutes, followed by our desserts – fabulous service. I was presented with a generous slice of moist pistachio sponge, soaked in pistachio milk sauce topped with light cream and pistachio pieces. I devoured every last crumb!
Founded in 2011 by Hind Al Mulla, the brand was born out of a natural love for baking and a passion for how the simple act of eating dessert makes people feel happy. Hind started her journey in her kitchen at home. She started by providing beautifully handcrafted bakes to her friends and family, and soon expanded thanks to a large social media following. With a loyal customer base and an influx of new enquiries, the small home grown company evolved and opened its first flagship store earlier this year.
