Baker Spotlight: Marta Libs, Our Free From Specialist

Meet Marta, one of our free from bakers who specialises in vegan, allergen and refined sugar free cakes. She can accommodate to most dietary requirements as most of her bakes are free from the top 14 allergens such as gluten, eggs, dairy etc.

We spoke to Marta about how and why she started her own gluten free and vegan artisan bakery. ‘’I have been living with multiple food intolerances since 2008, so I have personally experienced the challenges people with special dietary requirements face. Cooking, baking and feeding people has always been a central part of my life, so when I had to change my eating habits, I took a deep breath, and cleared my kitchen of everything that was making me unwell, and replaced them with alternatives and new ingredients’’.

Marta can guarantee that the flour she uses is gluten free, because all her flour is produced in her family's certified gluten and allergen free factory in Hungary. She uses a mixture of buckwheat and millet flour, which are nutritious and are high in fibre too. In addition to her pastry and cake mixes being gluten-free, they can also be prepared without eggs and dairy. Additionally, all of Marta’s cakes are made with unrefined cane sugar.

Marta’s most popular bakes are celebration cakes, which can be completely bespoke and tailored to your celebration. Her top three flavours are Chocolate & Orange, Coffee & Walnut, and Carrot Cake. During the Christmas season, her gluten free and vegan mince pies were her top sellers, with the first orders rolling in at the beginning of November!
